Why I Ride
I've been involved with AIDS services for many years, and have participated in AIDS rides going back to 2001. I had a very dear friend die of AIDS and I know this is how I can help honor him.
At 89-years young, I can't ride myself, but I organize a team each year to raise as much money as we possibly can. We raised over $2,500 last year and I'm very enthused about our goal to raise even more than that this year.
It's so important to raise as much money as possible because the money is so needed. If you are thinking of riding, please do so. We need your help.

Need Help Raising Pledges?
If you've already registered as a rider or crew for the Ride, but need help asking your friends and family to pledge, here are some easy ways to raise donations.
-
Include a link to your personal Ride page on your e-mail.
By providing a link to your personal page in the signature of your e-mails, everyone who receives your messages will know you're doing the Ride.
The link will take people directly to your page so they can make a pledge. (Make sure you check with your supervisor if you want to include a link on your work e-mail.)
-
Have a party and ask people to make pledges.
People love to attend parties, and most are willing to contribute toward a good cause while enjoying good company.
-
Invite people to a special fundraising event.
This could be a spa night or any other type of special event. Many businesses are willing to host events to help non-profit organizations and giving your friends a evening of fun will make them even more willing to make a pledge.
We're here to help. For all of your fundraising activities, don't hesitate to ask anyone from the Ride, BEHIV or TPAN for help. We can provide you with information or materials about the Ride or attend an event and speak about the Ride. |
